Previous Efforts:
Above is an animated logo experiment from in June 2022. Done in AfterEffects, it was my introduction to animating type
Initial Experiment:
Playing around with the S13 logo in Maya and UE5
I want to make 3D soft-body type – specifically with a Jell-O-like behavior and look.
Initial Lessons learned:
There are a lot of ways to do this. Lot’s of tools to use. I had been working in UE directly, but it does not have a real softbody solution. I then went to Blender, there were a couple of paths there, the thing being that previous soft-body approaches seem to have been overtaken by cloth simulations which can handle more advanced scenarios/materials.
New Way of Learning:
Rather than sifting through endless YouTube results that don’t answer my questions, I am asking ChatGPT for instructions. It has been very impressive.

The one thing I am having trouble with, which has been simple in other programs, is getting gravity working properly. Much like in Blender where only after I learned that you should turn off the goal (at first), there has to be something I am missing. So, tomorrow I go back a step and just try and animate some simple meshes.
